About Us

At Obudu Capital the founding partners believe that the most effective path forward lies in backing tech companies pioneering new ways to produce the resources our economy depends on. By investing in innovative solutions, Obudu Capital aims to not only address the immediate climate challenges but also to build a resilient, thriving future for the African continent and beyond.  The fund seeks to dissolve the dichotomy between preservation and consumption, integrating them to demonstrate that the interconnected whole is far greater than the sum of its parts.

Africa bears the brunt of the climate crisis, with 17 of the 20 most affected countries in the world located on the continent.

For the Obudu Capital team, the urgency is clear and the window to reverse the devastating trajectory is rapidly closing. Obudu Capital was born from a deeply personal commitment to being part of the solution.

Driven by a shared vision for a sustainable future, Nela joined forces with Nabiirah Nnambooze, Gladys Kavuma, and Ryan Lee to found Obudu Capital (OC). As a team, they set out to help solve the climate crisis by empowering and resetting the industries causing the greatest harm.

Impact

Obudu Capital integrates internationally recognised standards for impact measurement, embedding impact considerations at every stage of its investment process.

Our metrics are primarily aligned with BII and  2X Challenge frameworks designed to assess and communicate the social, environmental, and financial performance of ventures.
